Tonight, after taking a short break for Thanksgiving, we reconvened in chapter twenty-one. It is the final day of the trial for Miss Annabelle and Mr. Melbourne and a guilty verdict is given after the jurors were influenced by the judge. No facts were allowed admission by the judge at the trial, and the blind-folds representing the “Lady of Justice” were removed from the jurors by the judge.
Our discussion this evening focused on ego justice vs objective justice. The members expressed their enjoyment of the reading.
